AEG Ogden is pleased to announce that two of its Australian venues, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Allphones Arena in Sydney have ranked No. 1 and No. 4 respectively in Venues Today’s Top 10 worldwide venue “Top Stops” for 2012.*
Brisbane Entertainment Centre has been ranked the No. 1 venue in the world in the 10,001-15,000 capacity category ahead of O2 World Hamburg, Vector Arena Auckland and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
This honour has capped off a stellar year for the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and follows it’s No. 17 Ranking in Pollstar’s 2012 3rd Quarter Report on ticket sales of the Top 100 arenas and venues worldwide and its ranking as No. 1 venue in the world for the decade (to 2009) in the 10,001-15,000 capacity category in Billboard.
Helping to take it to the No. 1 position, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre hosted concerts and events from a diverse array of entertainers over the past year with the biggest sellers being Roger Waters, Rod Stewart, Roxette, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, How To Train Your Dragon, John Fogerty, Prince, Lady Gaga, Disney on Ice, Beach Boys, Matchbox Twenty and Radiohead.
Allphones Arena has been ranked the No. 4 venue in the world in Venues Today’s 15,001-30,000 capacity category behind O2 Arena London, Staples Centre Los Angeles and Bell Centre Montreal.
In the past twelve months, Allphones Arena has played host to shows by many superstar acts, with the biggest ticket sales coming from Roger Waters, UFC, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, How To Train Your Dragon, Prince, NKOTBSB, Lady Gaga, Disney on Ice, WWE, Beach Boys and Pitbull.
In addition to ranking No. 4 on the Venues Today list, Allphones Arena also placed at No. 20 on the Pollstar’s 2012 3rd Quarter Report.
In the coming months the Arenas will also host shows from acts like Nickelback, Elton John, Roller Derby Extreme, J-Lo, The Wiggles, Keith Urban, André Rieu, Celtic Thunder, Neil Young, The Script, P!nk and One Direction.
Allphones Arena and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre form part of AEG Ogden’s arena network in Australia which also includes Newcastle Entertainment Centre and the newly opened Perth Arena. The stunning 15,500 capacity Perth Arena was officially opened on 10 November with Sir Elton John, followed in its opening year by Matchbox Twenty, Nickelback, The Wiggles, J-Lo, Nicki Minaj, Russell Brand, Weezer, Celtic Thunder, Neil Young, The Script, P!nk and One Direction.
