Conditions Of Entry

Definitions:

‘Event’             means an event conducted at the Arena, whether it be a match, game, concert or function.

‘Hirer’              means an entity licensed to use the Venue to present the Event;

‘Manager’       means ASM Global (Sydney Arena) Pty Ltd as the manager of the Arena or any of their respective agents.

‘Patron’           means any person who enters the Arena at any time whatsoever, whether as a holder of a ticket or otherwise.

‘Arena’             means Qudos Bank Arena

Precinct’        means Sydney Olympic Park

Special Conditions of Entry During Health Emergencies: 

By entering the Arena, Patrons acknowledge that there is a heightened risk of contracting COVID-19 and the Arena owner, Manager, and Hirer do not guarantee that it is or will remain a COVID-19 free area. The Patron assumes all risk for any loss or damage caused in this regard while in or around the Arena. 

Patrons may be denied entry to, or removed from, the Arena for any failure to comply with a direction or request from the Manager, Hirer or relevant health authority, including failure to meet satisfactory results from screenings, or failing to adhere to any social distancing, hygiene practices or other processes, as deemed appropriate by the Manager, Hirer, or relevant health authority. 

During the Event, Patrons may be required to remain within their allocated Event space to minimise unnecessary movement throughout the Arena, and only contactless payments will be accepted for the Event. 

Patrons acknowledge that by entering the Arena, they are not infected with COVID-19 nor currently exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. 

In addition to the special Conditions of Entry, access to the Arena is subject to the following conditions: 

Conditions of Entry

  1. A Patron who breaches these Conditions of Entry may be denied access to or evicted from the Arena and / or be banned from attending future Events at the Arena and / or Precinct. A Patron may be asked for identification and have their photo taken for the purpose of enforcing these Conditions of Entry, including prosecution or other law enforcement purposes. 
  2. Patrons entering the Arena must have a valid Event ticket. All Patrons must have their ticket scanned at the dedicated entrances. 
  3. On arrival and for the purposes of entry into the Arena for the Event, a General Admission Standing Floor ticket may be exchanged for a wristband. 
  4. Patrons are not permitted to line up at the Arena before 8am on the day of the Event. This includes sleeping overnight. Patrons who arrive prior to 8am may be requested to leave the site. 
  5. Any person entering or attempting to enter the Arena without prior authorisation or not in possession of a valid ticket to attend an Event will be liable for prosecution. 
  6. Any person entering or attempting to enter the Arena and / or restricted areas, including but not limited to the performance area(s), field of play and / or Back of House areas within the Arena without proper authorisation will be liable for prosecution. 
  7. Tickets sold, purchased, or used in breach of the terms and conditions of sale may be cancelled without notice or refund and the ticket holder may be refused entry.   
  8. If a Patron holds a ticket acquired in breach of the terms and conditions of sale, including being purchased at a premium or from an unauthorised point of sale, the Patron may be refused admission to the Arena. Patrons purchasing tickets via a third-party seller (reseller) in excess of 10% of the face value of the ticket, are liable for prosecution. Any issues with tickets purchased via a third-party seller (reseller) must be referred to the original point of purchase / contact. 
  9. A Patron holding a ticket purchased for a ticketed Event at a concessional price must produce their proof of age, Government issued concession card or documentation justifying the concession, when the ticket is presented for use or entry. 
  10. Patrons who have been issued with a complimentary carer’s ticket must collect the ticket from the Arena’s Ticket Box Office on the day of the Event. The holder of the Government issued Companion Card must be in attendance. The holder must present their Companion Card at the Box Office to receive the complimentary ticket. 
  11. Patrons who are late for an Event may not be admitted until there is a suitable break in the Event. 
  12. The Patron must only occupy the seat (or designated General Admission Standing Floor area) specified on their ticket. 
  13.  The Hirer is responsible for all aspects of an Event. All complaints and claims arising out of or in connection with an Event, including but not limited to, admittance and seating at the Event, shall be directed to the Hirer.
  14. The Hirer reserves the right, to add, withdraw or substitute Event participants, and to vary seating arrangements, audience capacity, venue or program times as it deems necessary, and the Hirer’s exercise of this right shall not entitle the Patron to make any claim whatsoever against the Hirer or the Manager. 
  15. The Hirer or Manager may cancel, delay, interrupt or stop the Event due to dangerous situations, adverse weather or any other causes beyond its reasonable control, and such cancellation, delay, interruption or stoppage of the Event shall not entitle the Patron to make any claim whatsoever against the Manager or against the Hirer except, in the case of the Hirer, for and limited to a ticket for a replacement Event if scheduled or a refund of the appropriate portion of the base price of the ticket if the Event is cancelled and not subsequently rescheduled. 
  16. No refunds or exchanges are offered except in accordance with applicable laws and where expressly stated on the ticket. Refunds are made in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Code of Practice for Event Ticketing in Australia. 
  17. In accordance with the NSW liquor Act 2007, if under the legal drinking age, a Patron shall not attempt to purchase and / or consume any alcohol at the Arena. If of legal drinking age, the Patron shall not consume such quantity of alcohol which would be unlawful. As the Arena is a licensed premises:
  • Alcoholic beverages must not be taken from the premises.
  • No external alcoholic beverages will be permitted entry to the Arena.
  • Intoxicated and / or disorderly persons will be refused entry or evicted from the Arena. 
  • Alcohol may not be permitted inside the Arena and / or Main Auditorium at some Events. 
  • It is an offence for minors to purchase and / or consume alcohol. 
  • It is an offence to purchase liquor for, or to supply liquor to a minor. 
  • Persons supplying liquor to minors will be reported to Police. Penalties apply under relevant legislation.
  • Any persons found in breach of the above licensing laws will be asked to leave the Arena. Failure to leave may result in prosecution.

    18. On occasions there will be a requirement for all drinks to be decanted. Patrons are advised that drink spillages could occur in which case the floor may become slippery.
    19. Patrons are required to be aware that once inside the Main Auditorium lighting levels may vary.
    20. Patrons required to show a valid identification (ID) as proof of identity must produce one of the following Government issued forms of ID: 

  • A valid Passport with a photograph
  • A valid Australian Drivers Licence  
  • A valid NSW digital Drivers Licence 
  • A valid Proof of Age or Photo Card 
  • Note: Photographs of forms of ID will not be accepted 

21. For the safety of Patrons during the course of an Event, strollers, prams and capsules will not be permitted entry into the Main Auditorium. Patrons will be directed to the Cloakroom to have the pram, stroller or capsule cloaked. 
22. Any Patron, 15 years or under, must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 
23. In accordance with the Smoke-Free Environment Act 2000 No.69, smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Arena except for those specifically designated as a Smoking Area. Smoking includes the use of electronic cigarettes and other electronic imitations or simulation devices. Patrons who fail to obey a direction from authorised person/s to cease smoking, may be immediately evicted from the Arena. 
24. The Hirer, its agents, or the Manager may, in their absolute discretion, conduct searches of Patrons for any items which are prohibited by law or prohibited by these Conditions of Entry. Depending on the Event, walkthrough metal detectors, x-ray machines, visual searches, handheld metal detectors, bag searches and external pat-downs of persons (conducted by NSW Police), are types of methods which may be used to search Patrons attending the Arena. 
25. Patrons are responsible for their own personal possessions and must not leave bags or possessions unattended at any time. 
26. Events at the Arena may involve a level of recreational risk associated with a crowded environment, which may result in personal injury from time-to-time. All patrons purchasing tickets or attending events at the Arena are asked to assess their own risk prior to entry. 
27. Any person found interfering with the emergency equipment of the Arena, throwing objects that endanger other patrons or team members, damaging seats or any other equipment or assets of the Arena will be removed and if deemed necessary, NSW Police may be called upon to press charges. 
28. All Patrons must wear appropriate attire for a public place at all times, including footwear. Any clothing with lewd, obscene, and / or offensive writing, images or imprints are not permitted to be worn at the Arena. Public nudity, indecency and revealing attire is strictly prohibited, along with clothing illegitimately depicting the wearer as a security operative, law enforcement officer or representative of a government agency. The Manager reserves the right to determine whether attire and footwear is appropriate to access the Arena, including in regard to accessing a General Admission Standing Floor and corporate areas.   
29. Any person wearing any ‘Colours’ or ‘Insignia’ signifying belonging to any of the Outlaw Motor Cycle Gangs (OMCG), or other group as designated by NSW Police, is prohibited from entering, or being in the Arena. This includes displaying tattoos and wearing of any item of clothing with, or otherwise showing in any way, an image, symbol, abbreviation, club patches, or acronym belonging to, or showing an affiliation with any such OMCG. 
30. A Patron shall not use any electronic device (including any smart phone, mobile phone, tablet, laptop computer or other kind of communication device) to communicate or transmit any form of commentary, data or other material in relation to an event taking place at the Arena for any commercial purposes (including sports betting or gambling) and / or in any way, or attempt to, improperly influence by any means whatsoever the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of any competition taking place at the Arena or to offer to any third party a bribe or other reward to engage in such activities. 
31. A Patron shall not transmit or aid in transmitting any description, picture, account or reproduction of an Event without the authorisation of the Hirer and the Manager. If the Patron makes such a transmission, description, picture, account or reproduction of an Event which is subsequently confiscated by the Hirer or the Manager or their agents, it shall become the property of the Manager. The Manager, the Hirer, their agents and licensees may utilise the Patrons image or likeness incidental to any photographic record, live or recorded video display or any other visual or audio transmission or reproduction in whole or in part of the Event. 
32. The Manager reserves the right to remove / delete any footage / images from devices found to be taken by a Patron whilst at the Arena, including but not limited to, unauthorised soliciting or surveying of the Arena and / or Precinct.   
33. Patrons voluntarily assume all risk of all damage and loss – including property damage, personal injury (fatal and non-fatal), economic and consequential loss – whatsoever and howsoever arising (including by negligence) at the Arena including damage or loss caused by the acts or omissions of other Patrons including employees, agents or licensees of the Manager or Hirer or any other person or thing present at the Arena.   
34. For safety and security purposes, the movement of Patrons within the Arena and its surrounds will be subject to the monitoring by Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Facial Recognition technology and Body Worn Video Cameras (BWVC). These technologies may record, film and / or photograph Patrons to identify unauthorised entries and whether they pose a risk to others and / or the Arena. By entering the Arena you agree to the use of these technologies in accordance with the ASM Global Privacy Policy & Workplace Surveillance Act 2005.BWVC, CCTV and Facial Recognition recordings and photographs (including stills from recordings) may be released to third parties, including Statutory Authorities if requested and as required when investigating, documenting and / or analysing incidents at the Arena. 
35. Medical Conditions – If you have a medical condition that requires you to carry medication (i.e. Epi-Pens, insulin pens, syringes, electronic cigarettes and other electronic imitations or simulation devices etc.) or if you have a medical insert such as a pacemaker, please let security personnel know upon arrival. The Arena has a First Aid team on duty at every Event, should you require medical assistance or observe someone you believe requires medical assistance, please advise an Arena team member immediately. The Arena has a duty of care to its Patrons and staff and may escalate a medical incident to the Ambulance Service if it is determined that they are required. Should any Patron require or receive medical treatment while at the Arena, it is imperative that the Patron take all reasonable steps to notify the Manager of the circumstances of the incident and the treatment required or received. The Manager will keep a record of all incidents and treatments, which will be handled confidentially and sensitively. At all times, the overriding priority is the health and safety of Arena staff and Patrons. 
36. Patrons may not bring animals into the Arena other than an assistance animal in the company of its registered owner. Service animals must display a companion vest / lead for ease of identification. 
37. Patrons of the Arena must not solicit, display, attempt to sell or distribute any goods or advertising, promotional or political materials (or similar) to any other person. 
38. The distribution of leaflets, selling of any goods, merchandise tickets or collections at the Arena is prohibited without the appropriate license and the expressed permission of the Manager. 
39. Patrons must not engage in any conduct, act towards or speak to any person in a manner (whether through the use of language, gestures, or otherwise) which is likely to offend, insult, humiliate, intimidate, threaten , disparage or vilify that other person on the basis of a personal attribute of that other person, including, but not limited to, that other person’s sex, gender, age, race, religion, culture, political belief or activity, sexual orientation, disability or impairment, gender identity, descent or national or ethnic origin. If a patron fails to comply with this condition, they may be refused admission to, or evicted from, the Arena by the Manager, and they must relinquish any and all Event tickets they have in their possession at the request of the Manager. In addition, Patrons acknowledge and accept that a failure to comply with this condition of entry may result in the imposition of other sanctions (such as being issued with an official banning notice preventing the Patron from attending the Arena and / or Precinct in the future). 
40. Patrons must not enter restricted areas without appropriate accreditation or approval from the Manager. Restricted areas include the field of play, performance areas and any other area deemed as restricted by the Manager or Hirer. Violators are subject to eviction, banning notices and / or prosecution under relevant trespass legislation. 
41. The Hirer and the Manager reserve the right to refuse admission to, or eject from the Arena without compensation, any Patron whose conduct is, or is deemed by the Hirer, the Manager and / or their agents, to be prohibited, unlawful, dangerous, disorderly or offensive, or who is not entitled to attend that Event, including those who enter a restricted access area or other area(s) of the Arena which is generally not accessible to the general public. 
42. The unauthorised continual recording of an Event and / or a performance is prohibited. 
43. Qudos Bank Aena has a strict no pass-out policy. Patrons leaving the premises are not permitted to re-enter. 
44. Qudos Bank Arena is a CASH-FREE venue. EFTPOS and credit card payment methods are accepted including PayWave and Apple Pay technologies at all retail outlets. Patrons without a credit / debit card, can visit the Information Desk to obtain an EFTPOS card in exchange for cash for use throughout the Arena. 
45. Patrons acknowledge and accept that these Conditions of Entry may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Manager. 
46. By entering into the Arena, a Patron consents to these Conditions of Entry. 

Prohibited Items

Unless expressly authorised by the Manager, possession of the following items is prohibited at the Arena: 

  1. Aerosol canisters 
  2. Alcohol and electronic cigarettes and other electronic imitations or simulation devices 
  3. Illegal or illicit substances 
  4. All electronic phone / tablet / device measuring greater than 170mm diagonally* 
  5. Cameras with a lens that extends greater than 5cm. along with all professional cameras (those with detachable lenses or telephoto lenses) 
  6. Animals (excluding service animals) 
  7. Audio / visual recording devices 
  8. Backpacks of any kind* 
  9. Bags larger than an A5 (15cm x 20cm) sheet of paper* 
  10. Banners, posters, flags, or signs larger than 1 metre x 1 metre. The Manager reserves the right to have these items removed if found to impede the view of other patrons. Flag poles are not permitted.  
  11. Bicycles, skateboards, or skates 
  12. Broadcasting or transmission equipment 
  13. Cans, bottles (including glass, hard plastic or metal) and containers 
  14. Chewing gum 
  15. Drones or other remote-controlled devices 
  16. Eskies or hard cased cooler bags 
  17. External / Commercial food and drink. Patrons are permitted to enter with a limit of one (1) sealed 600ml PET bottle of water, per person, except when there is a ’Full decant’ policy in place for any given Event 
  18. Fireworks or flares 
  19. Glo-sticks and other such illuminating objects 
  20. Knives, weapons, scissors and chains 
  21. Spiked wrist or neck bands, spiked or studded belts 
  22. Large umbrellas longer than 300mm when in the closed position 
  23. Lasers and laser pointers 
  24. Lewd or offensive materials, including tattoos on display. The Manager has the right to review content and the right to refuse material of any items or clothing entering the Arena 
  25. Liquids greater than 100ml (e.g., perfumes and aftershaves etc.) 
  26. Motorbike helmets or any face coverings deemed inappropriate by the Manager 
  27. Musical instruments including horns, trumpets, sirens, vuvuzelas or other noise making devices 
  28. Permanent marker or felt type pens 
  29. Selfie sticks, monopods, and tripods 
  30. Any other item deemed by the Manager in its absolute discretion, to be inappropriate, illegal, immoral, unsafe, or hazardous in any way. 

* OTHER THAN FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES AND AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF QUDOS BANK ARENA MANAGEMENT – which are to be appropriately searched and security tagged upon entry. 

      The Manager reserves the right to, at any time, add items to the prohibited items list. 

    Patrons with any items found to be in breach of these Conditions of Entry may have the items confiscated, be given the option of securing the item themselves, or allowed to utilise the Arena’s Cloakroom facilities. All items checked into the Cloakroom will be subject to a cloaking fee and a security search prior to cloaking. 

    General Admission Standing Floor Persons Regulations

    Qudos Bank Arena is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons and operates accordingly to mitigate risks to patron safety. Please see below for helpful safety tips pertaining to the General Admission (GA) Standing Floor: 

    • Camping is deemed unauthorised access on enclosed lands and will be treated as intentional trespassing. Please note that the Sydney Olympic Park Authority holds its own strict rules and standards against camping within the Precinct which may result in NSW Police involvement. Patrons are not permitted to queue for an Event prior to 8am on the day of the Event. Any person found to be queuing or camping for an event prior to 8am will be asked to move along.   
    • Any fan-made queueing system will be superseded by the Arenas GA Standing Floor queueing system that will commence from 8am on the day of the Event. This queueing system is monitored throughout the day with water and first aid amenities available. 
    • It is a condition of entry of the Arena that all personnel under the age of 15 be accompanied by a responsible adult. This includes whilst in the GA Standing Floor queue. 
    • No Moshing, crowd surfing and being elevated by others – any activities that are deemed to be dangerous may result in your eviction from the Event and Arena. 
    • You may experience overheating due to crowd density and / or dancing whilst on the GA Standing Floor which is done at your own risk. 
    • Make sure you keep well hydrated and if you require water, seek assistance from Arena staff. There are free Hydration Stations located throughout the Arena – opposite Door 16 (Ground Level), Door 21 (Level 1) and Door 77 (Level 3). 
    • Take a break and move out of the crowd into the concourse areas or at the rear of the GA Standing Floor where there is more space. 
    • Look out for each other! If you see someone in distress, seek assistance by alerting Arena staff and / or security personnel immediately. 
    • Patrons must wear appropriate footwear at all times. Bare feet will not be permitted. 
    • Medical first aid staff are available at all times during the Event and are positioned at the GA Standing Floor area as well as adjacent to Door 4 on Ground Level.  
    • Items used whilst waiting in the GA Standing Floor queue may be refused to be cloaked at the Arena’s cloak room if deemed too bulky or dangerous in nature. All items cloaked are subject to a cloakroom fee. 

    Refusal Of Entry

    For the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all Patrons, the Manager reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the Venue, any person(s): 

    • deemed to be intoxicated and/or disorderly 
    • that has gained unauthorised access to the Arena 
    • who displays discriminatory, threatening or harassing behaviour towards any other person (whether through the use of language, gestures or otherwise) which is likely to offend, insult, humiliate, intimidate, threaten, disparage or vilify that other person 
    • with prohibited items, including items which have the potential to cause injury or public nuisance 
    • who purchases an Event ticket from any unauthorised source, including a ticket scalper 
    • who presents an invalid ticket 
    • wearing ‘colours’, ‘insignia’ or pictures signifying belonging to any Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs (OLMCs) or other group as designated by NSW Police. This includes 
    • displaying tattoos and wearing of any item of clothing with, or otherwise showing in any other way, an image, symbol, abbreviation, club patches, or acronym belonging to, or showing an affiliation with, any such OLMC. 

    A Patron who breaches any of these Conditions of Entry may be denied access to, or evicted from, the Arena and / or be banned from attending future Events at the Arena / Precinct. A Patron may be asked for identification for the purpose of enforcing these Conditions of Entry, including prosecution or other law enforcement purposes. 

    Compliance 

    Arena security policies and procedures shall be approved at the appropriate level prior to use. 

    Locally administered Security Operational Procedures should be established and monitored by the Arena security team that maintains ownership of the specific processes control practices, to verify compliance with Arena policy.

    Security policies, practices, and records may be subject to audit by APAC Head Office or contracted third parties. The findings of such audit shall be reported to Senior management of APAC.
