About
The highly anticipated Constellation Cup between the Origin Australian Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns will return this October, with opening matches bound for Australia.
The 15th edition of the Constellation Cup will commence at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Friday 17 October, with support from platinum partner Visit Victoria.
The Diamonds will host the Silver Ferns in match two of the series at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday 22 October.
The series will then cross the Tasman, with the final games taking place in Hamilton and Christchurch.
Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos welcomed the Melbourne opening match with excitement.
“This international netball contest is yet another feather in Melbourne’s brimming cap.”
“Our major events calendar is the best and most diverse in the country, drawing people from around Australia and the world, and supporting thousands of jobs.”
The Diamonds will aim to reclaim the Constellation Cup after the Silver Ferns secured the title for the first time since 2021 in last year’s series.
Origin Australian Diamonds Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich shared her enthusiasm to start this year’s Constellation Cup with the home advantage.
“There’s nothing quite like playing in front of our home fans in Australia,” Marinkovich said.
“The energy and support we receive is unmatched, and it’s always a privilege to represent our country on home soil.
“The Constellation Cup is one of the most prestigious titles in netball, and we hope to be playing in front of sold-out crowds at John Cain Arena and Qudos Bank Arena come October.”
